Tänään matkasimme eläinlääkäriasema Akuuttiin viralliseen silmäpeilaukseen. Matkalta otimme siskoni Maaritin mukaan. Samalla pennut kävivät ensimmäisen kerran vieraassa talossa. Nosteltiin yksitellen käymään sisällä kolmen sheltin ihmeteltävänä. Isla ja Nuoska lähtivät heti reippaasti häntä pystyssä tutkimaan paikkoja ja tutustelemaan koiriin. Loput neljä haistelivat vähän aikaa ympäristöä, pojat lähtivät suht nopeasti siitä eteenpäin, Unna ehkä vähän varovaisemmin häntä alhaalla.

Akuutissa pennuille tippoja silmiin kolme kertaa 5 minuutin välein. Ja sitten odotettiin, että ELL Kaisa Wickström ehti silmät tarkastamaan. Siinä vaiheessa kaikki uusi ja ihmeellinen oli uuvuttanut matkaajat, ja nukkuivat todella sikeästi. Jopa niin sikeään, että muutamaa saatiin herätellä, jotta silmät aukenivat. Ja kaikilla pennuilla on pentuterveet silmät:)

Luna pääsi koekaniiniksi, kun Kaisa kokeili uutta kameraa. Tarkoituksena testata, voiko sillä kuvata myös pennun silmiä. Kamera otti kuvan silmänpohjasta, ja sillä tutkitaan CRD:tä. Kuvat sai heti tietokoneelle, ja siellä näkyi selvästi silmähermo sekä verisuonet. Nykytekniikka on ihmeellistä!

Today we went for the official eye examination at the vet's clinic. On our way, we picked up my sister Maarit. And the pups visited a new house for the first time. We took them inside individually so they had a change to meet the three shelties. Isla and Nuoska started to explore the house and dogs with their tails up. The rest sniffed the new environment and the boys continued quite quickly. Unna was a bit cautious and kept her tail down.

At the clinic, the pups got eyedrops three times every 5 minutes. Then we just waited for the vet. All the new things had exhausted the pups and they were sound asleep. So sound that we had to wake some up for them to open their eyes. And all had clear eyes :)

Luna had a chance to be a guinea pig when the vet tried on her new camera for a pups' eyes. Photos of the fundus are used for CRD diagnosing. The photos were transferred to the computer and the nerve and blood vessels showed clearly. Isn't the modern technique amazing!
